Mystic and inspiring Istanbul in Winter

Istanbul – City of Mosques

Istanbul is the place where Europe and Asia meet. Thanks to its geographical position it always played an important role in the trading business in between those two continents. And this trading inheritance is still very present in this historical city.

On one side there are beautiful mosques and palaces that could have only been financed thanks to the profits made with trading and then there are places like the grand bazar or the spice market where you can experience trade in its purest form.

Maybe because visiting all those places and bargaining with the merchants is so tiring that the Turkish became also really good in brewing coffee and inventing deserts. Make sure to try Künefe and Baklava at Mado before you leave as those two deserts are absolutely delicious.
