Small and cozy fisherman’s village

Negombo
Day 1

After your arrival in Colombo, you take a shuttle to Negombo. A small fisherman’s village only 20 minutes from the Airport. We start our journey calm and easy. Negombo is a sleepy fisher village by the beach. It is set amid lush groves of coconut palms, golden beaches and with fascinating colonial and historic buildings.

Day 2

Jeep Safari

After a calm start in Negombo we drive 3h to the Wilpattu NP, well known for its wildlife like Elephants, Leopards and many Birds. On a Jeep Safari we explore the wildlife closer and stay overnight in a Safari Camp.

Cultural Experience

Ancient Temples of Anuradhapura
Day 3

Here the cultural experience begins. The old temples of Anuradhapura is our first step into history of Sri Lanka. It is one of the three stop in the heritage triangle of Anuradhapura, Sirigiya and Polonnaruwa.

Beach of Trincomalee
Day 4-6

Whitesandy endless beaches

After the first days of action we are going to relax at the wonderful whitesandy beaches of Trincomalee before we head to the highlands of Sri Lanka.

Ruins, Temples & an ancient Monastry

Polonnaruwa & Sigiriya Rock
Day 7-8

The next stops of the cultural triangle are Sigirya Rock and Polonnaruwa. In the highlands of Sri Lanka we have the options to climb the old Sigiriya Rock Monastry, explore the temples of Plonnaruwa and go on another wildlife safari.

Kandy
Day 9-11

Last city of the King’s era

Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan King’s era. It is located on a plateau surrounded by mountains and home to many important buddhist sights. Especially the Temple of the Sacred Tooth. We stay two nights to stroll along the lake border, visit the temples and attend a traditional dance show.

Nuwara Elyia & Ella
Day 12-14

The highest town of Sri Lanka

Known as little England Nuwara Eliya has lush greenery, winding roads, hills and valleys and waterfalls. Breath in the aroma of tea, see traditional homes and hike Horton Plains National Park. It is also our starting point for the famous train ride to Ella.

Colonial Galle & busy Colombo
Day 18-19

Colonial & modern Towns

On the way to Colombo we stop at the colonial town of Galle. Founded by the Portuguese Galle is now known as former dutch town. Especially the well built Fort and its european buildings are a visit worth. Afterwards we continue to our last stop – Colombo. A vibrant and busy town with all its smells, sounds and bustle.
